Welcome to SchistoSite

The Story Behind SchistoSite;

When I started my hematology and oncology fellowship, I often felt lost in a field that evolves faster than anyone can fully keep up with. Between all the references filled with overwhelming details, I struggled to find a clear and reliable resource to master the fundamentals. I am deeply grateful to my senior fellows, who created a study guide as part of their quality improvement project, and I was fortunate to contribute by writing a few hematology lectures. Inspired by that experience, I founded SchistoSite to offer an open-access collection of high-yield summaries in hematology and oncology.

Our mission is to support hematology and oncology fellows in learning the fundamentals of the field, helping them feel prepared as they begin their fellowship and later as they study for board exams, through a concise and well-organized study guide. In addition, internal medicine residents applying for hematology/oncology fellowships and hematology/oncology attending physicians seeking to review or refresh their knowledge may also benefit from studying these notes.

Hematology and oncology is a vast and rapidly evolving field, with new research and guidelines constantly being published; therefore, it is essential to stay up to date with the latest studies and recommendations. We continuously work on updating the notes to reflect new advances; however, if you notice any information in our notes that is not consistent with recent discoveries, please use the ‘Contact Us’ page to let us know and help us keep this resource accurate and current. Join us on this journey of learning and discovery as we explore the fascinating world of hematology and oncology together.

Instruction:

  • You can find a pinned post in "Study Guides" section titled “I Wish I Knew Earlier.” It includes key insights and practical tips that can make your Hem/Onc journey easier- the earlier you learn them, the better.

  • In the Oncology section, topics and posts are organized according to the NCCN classification (e.g. Pancreatic Cancer, Biliary Tract Cancers, Uterine Neoplasms, etc.).

  • Words written in all CAPITAL letters within parentheses represent the names of the clinical trials that reported the referenced results (e.g. EXTREME).
